Got Leadership? | 0
Hi, Like many Americans, I believe in our country and I have done the right things. I earned a Bachelor's degree and a graduate degree, I worked hard, and I invested my money. Now I find myself mid-career, underemployed, some of my investments have gone south while others have been under-performing, and I'm paying higher-than-needed interest rates on mortgages and credit cards *(Note: I never carried credit card balances my whole life until recently when it seemed necessary to have financial integrity). Please help by getting Americans into lower-interest-rate loans and investing in the green economy for jobs and the environment. Meanwhile, please help lower tax rates and end deficit spending by inisting on phased dramatic reductions in military spending. Together we can do this! Thank You Karsten Mueller Santa Cruz, CA 95060
Great American Bank Robbery | 0
Our government, under pressure from corporations, took our public dollars out of the entitlement to basic poverty relief (welfare), giving it to corporations to create jobs/provide training. That was "welfare reform." American businesses took that money and ran, leaving the poor behind while they focused on shipping our jobs to foreign countries (at taxpayer expense), leaving many Americans in crushing poverty. Big Business and government created a Third World workforce here in the US, known as "workfare," a system of indentured servitude; this has been used as a tool for suppressing wages and crushing unionizing efforts. No foreign enemy has caused as much damage to America as the marriage between corporations and our own government. How strange that anyone would think there would be no consequences. Credit Cards | 0
G'day Mate, I owe about sixteen thousand dollars in credit card bills. It seems much like a form of indenture. My income is spotty, much of it on the road because my work requires me to travel. I have to use credit cards for gas (the price of which is driven up by speculators), for meals, once in a while for hotels, for repairs to my twenty five year old car, and the debt accumulates. The rates are usurious, up to thirty percent. No number of monthly payments, usually the minimum, but when I do have money, up to double that, makes much of a dent. Wall Street wants to do something to get the protesters off their back? Start by forgiving all interest on all credit cards, everywhere, in and out of this country, for a year, and let people pay their principal down. Then charge a flat ten percent for two years, so that people can extricate themselves from credit card indenture. It will cost you billions, but would have the effect of freeing up billions of dollars and stimulating spending at the bottom of the economy. Andrew 38104

Getting credit is so much more difficult, the burden is constantly being shifted on the poor. The less money you have the more paperwork you have to put in. And hardly anyone wants to work with you!!! Stop adding fees to the poor's bank accounts. it's the rich that can afford to pay for having a checking account. Cesar 92562

Have You Forgotten You Need The People? | 0
Dear CEOs and Board Members... Have you forgotten how your business has become successful? Have you simply failed to remember that your company is in business because of the people that purchase the products and services and the same people that work day in and day out to support your company? You need to remember that if your business practices are detrimental to the environment and to the national economy, you are destroying the very foundation upon which all corporations stand - The people! Without people buying goods and services you have nothing! STOP the Predatory practices! You cannot continue to take the economy and nation for granted and milk the situation for every dime available and expect to walk away without consequence. It is time for Corporate Responsibility... starting with YOU! Carrie Ann Todd College Park, MD 20740

As an American Citizen for the 53 years of my life, I have to say that more than any other time, I am ashamed. Our forefathers would literally kick the members of Congress out, the President, and you people would never stand a chance. Your greed, selfishness and the fact that you do not care as long as your pockets are full has gone on long enough. "We the People" are standing up for our rights, standing up against big oil, big banks and you billionaires who are only rich because of the little working man and woman out here. You will have to change or we will make the change for you. The choice is yours. America will be a great country again just as soon as the "trash" is taken out!!!!

Dear Sir Or Madam, Peoples demands for social and economic justice directly to the richest 1% of Americans — the very folks who are benefiting most from the inequality in our system while the other 99% of us face endless layoffs, fee hikes, stagnant wages, and climate change bankrolled by Wall Street need to be listened to. We can’t all be camped out in Zuccotti Park, so that is why I am sending this messagesdirectly to the CEOs and board members of the top financial institutions in the world. Fed up with Bank of America and other big Wall Street banks underwriting dirty coal and wrecking our climate? Fed up with the inordinate political influence exerted by the richest of the rich? Fed up with the lack of decent jobs for the 99% while fat cats get massive bonuses? #OcuppytheBoardRoom is your chance to express exactly what you’re feeling directly to the 1%ers responsible for these injustices. Now more than ever, the people at the top of the world’s biggest corporations need to feel the full force of the 99% of us who speak for what is right and what our communities need. CEO pay | 0
There is no reason CEO pay can be around $16, 000 an hour and they get to work sitting down in heat/and or air conditioning while people making minimum wage are out in the elements and getting killed on the job just because said CEOs can't spend a little money on safety, training and wages. Then another group of CEOs decided to pump up a sub-prime mortgage market probably knowing full well the bubble would burst, but they got so greedy so fast, the loan documentation wasn't kosher and people were hired at $8.50 an hour as bank vice presidents and what not to sign off on loans and then these same CEOs went crying to the Government we are "too big to fail", the working class is too big to ignore Elodie 54810

You are failing in your responsibility | 0
As the richest among us, you all must take responsibility for all the people in the industries you control. Yes, in spite of all the foibles of humanity, you have the money and the power, so you must take care of us. You must provide us with enough money to live on, including health care. That is your part of the social contract, and you must fulfill it always, because you're so rich. It's just part of the deal. If you fail in this, the system will break down, and your costs will go up a lot. So get busy and change your ways now. Martha Booz El Sobrante, CA 94803

True Patriotism | 0
True Patriotism is concern for 'the common welfare'. It is not the theft of wealth from a nation for the enrichment of a few. There is a reason that Jesus used a whip to drive the money changers - bankers - from the temple and called them thieves. And he didn't give them tax breaks...
