  • Greed, greed and more greed! | 0

I am so disgusted with Wall St. The Bankers and the Corporations are destroying this fine country with their total greed and lack of care about who or what they trample upon.
I'm retired after working a lifetime in California and my money has been cut to almost nothing.
    Shame on the 1%.

I've been a professional for over 35 years in 4 different fields, adapting as the market changed until the jobs disappeared. As I approach my 65th birthday I fear I cannot adapt enough to sustain myself. I have cut back on everything possible: no vacations, no insurance, no doctors, no cable or even TV. My only "indulgence" is the Internet, without which I'd be as isolated as someone in Antarctica. What I learn from the Internet is that you have not had to cut back on anything, despite failing to provide jobs and improve the economy for We, the People who bailed you out.

Whether or not this message touches your conscience in a meaningful way is irrelevant. Change will come simply because the younger people who still have energy and hope will continue to occupy the streets and take creative steps to do what is normal for any human being, which is to try to improve their condition.

You can make that transition easy or you can make it difficult. You cannot stop it. History is NOT on your side.

I want to believe you are better than that. I want to believe your accumulation of wealth is to ensure the future of your family. That is what we want as well, but the power of the wallet is in your hands while the power of the masses is us.

We don't want blood in the streets. We don't want blood in the boardrooms. We want justice, we want the right to work and live like decent human beings after a hard day's work.

Do you want to spend the rest of your lives in a bubble or bunker? I don't think so. Nor do I want to live out my senior years dumpster diving and begging for change to pay my rent.

Please consider what I have to say and the others who will be sending emails. It is the long run that counts, not the bottom line.

Have a heart. Be good and hold on to what is justly yours while giving back to the people who put you in your exalted position, i.e. the mailroom clerks, the secretaries, the messengers, the elevator maintenance people. We were once invisible to you but that is over. We will make you change or you will realize it is to your advantage to adapt, just as we have.
So, join us, you in the 1%. Put down your fish fork and rinse your hands in your finger bowls. Work out an equitable tax system which will enrich your industries as well as provide jobs and sustenance to We, the [formerly] Invisible People.

  • Weak middle class = weak economy | 0

My wife and I both work, and we've both been lucky enough to keep our jobs throughout this financial crisis. But we've had to cut back. How? By forgoing a second child. We wanted our little boy to have a little brother or sister, but we just can't afford to have another child. Can't afford the daycare, the diapers, the doctor visits, the crib, the nursery trimmings--we just don't have the money. It shouldn't be this way. When I was kid, my mother didn't have to work. My parents got by on one income, with three kids, and they were still able to afford two cars, a house, and an annual vacation. What happened between then and now? What went wrong? The middle class has gotten squeezed--that's what. Well guess what? If you squeeze us anymore, we're going to start squeezing back.

How much profit does a financial institution or corporation NEED? We know a business has to make a profit but when a business pays salaries of leaders in the millions of dollars and then adds bo- nuses in similar measures it is making more profit than it needs and at the expense of consumers
most of whom are far lower on the economic ladder.
Biblical wisdom invites us all to care about others as much as we care about ourselves. Regulations protect the public. Eliminating them provides more profits at public expense.Business can be profitable and still care about the people. We invite you to choose that way and direct your lobbying to that end.

    Dear CEOs'
I'm not the typical protestor. I'm a dedicated non-partisan and an equal opportunity critic. I'm also an avid outdoorsman who values environmental preservation, democratic principles, ethical commerce, and job fairness. As a former small business owner, I'm also a champion of good commerce. I'm really heartsick over the values that I have always cherished, seem to be lacking in the actions of so many of the corporate types and actors on Wall Street. Your behaviors are lacking in so much of what the country need right now; including those I mention above. It seems somehow unpatriotic as well. You folks have been the REAL welfare state of late. It's time that that comes to an end.

For far too long, we, the 99%, have sat idly by & allowed you to control our lives through your political meddlings. For far too long, we have accepted the assumption that there's nothing we can do. Well, that ends NOW! It is because of us, the 99%, that you are in business. It is because of us, the 99%, that you have your riches, your mansions, penthouse apartments, multiple luxury vehicles, yachts, & such. We are who made your life possible. Well now, it's time for you to pay us back.

    Dear Sirs;

No matter how hard we try to pay off debts we can't seem to get ahead. The interest rates are insane on our credit card (that by the way we have been with the same bank for 30 years) but of course nothing for loyalty to us.

My question? When is and how much is enough for the banks to take, take, take? I may not be very good at my message but what is your message to us? "Why don't you trust us? Why don't you like us?"

Gee - I can't imagine why? Do you even see the people who have lost everything? Do you even care?

Do you really believe that the unemployed are lazy and want to be unemployed? Do you really think that your life is so stressful and demanding that you deserve to earn that much more than a parent who has to have two minimum wage jobs to feed his or her children? Do you get to take nice vacations to relieve that stress? They don't. I know people with doctorates working minimum wage jobs, so it's not that you're that much smarter or better educated. Who is responsible for the mess that this country is in? Greedy people at the top who can buy politicians so that they can get even more money- at the expense of the poor and middle class who wanted to live in a house instead of an apartment. Did you ever study the French and Russian revolutions in history? Look around. The U.S. is getting to that point.

You have grossly obstructed our Democracy and interfered with the Fabric and Justice of our economy. You are treachious and Treasonous with the laws that you free break and escape all accountability for those Actions.

While you have driven your lawless Ponzi scheme beyond reasonable Measure. I and others like me vow to bring you to full prosecutive penalities for your abuses. To fight your influences to break up the middle class and forstall the growth of the economy.

You have partied off the plight of middle Class seige and have used it to obtain even further consideration that excludes you from contributing to your fair share of Taxes. It doesn't suprise me that wal street isn't telling the repugs not to do anything about the economy. Im disgusted in your actions and having money ,dose not mean we wont come and see you criminals.

My husband and I have held multiple public and private sector jobs. Each paid a salary, a portion of which went to taxes. The remainder purchased various goods and services ... housing, food, utilities, appliances, entertainment, etc. Regardless of who wrote our paychecks, the salaries that supported our spending thus provided a real, if tiny, boost to the local economy.

As we both continue to face pay cuts, our spending has dropped, as did the income of the businesses we patronize. Were we unemployed, imagine how miserly we would be with whatever money we had. Apply this attitude to millions of unemployed Americans, and it's easy to see why our economy is sagging.

Consumers aren't spending, and no competent business owner is going to hire employees to produce goods and services that nobody can buy.

But, you the 1% continue to thrive. How long will that continue if YOU continue to crush the middle class and working poor with your greed?

  • Citizens Bank | 0

I work for a non-profit in downtown Boston. We take care of the homeless and hungry who have fallen away at the margins. I do not get paid a lot of money, but enough to have all I need. But the costs of everything has led me to struggle, barely making in paycheck to paycheck. I went to the local Citizens Bank where I have my accounts and applied for a CRA loan. After supplying all the needed papers and waiting 3 weeks and going into the bank to ask every 3 days what was taking so long, I was informed on Friday that I did not qualify. But they were never going to tell me in person; they were going to send me a letter ... in their words,. "eventually." They never told me there were conditions to this loan, they never updated me to the progress and they were never going to tell me I did not qualify. No personal connection. I am not a human, I am a number. It is another example of how big banks do not care about real people - it is only about making money. I needed the help of my bank - where I put my money, money I earned - and got nothing. I am getting out of Citizens as soon as I can and will choose a local, small bank like Middlesex or Hingham savings. I am tired of being treated with zero respect, concern or value.

  • It's never the wrong time to do the right thing. | 0

We have run amok. Our goals for our lives, our country and our world have become skewed toward greed and self serving behavior. And a lot of the blame rests at your feet. You have tremendous influence and with that comes tremendous responsibility. We can make our world work right. I urge you to examine your conscience. Remember, you have to look yourselves in the mirror. What do you want to see? Thank you.

  • We Want a Change to Save America and it's Citizens | 0

It's long past due for a change in the current american government and private industry.

The days of lining the pockets of the wealthiest in Ameican has to change starting NOW! There are millions of americans losing their livelihood due to outsourcing, low wages, no insurance. Our streets are full of the hungry, homeless and those who have lost their homes due to foreclosures.

Why are the individuals who have contributed the majority of damage to our economy and environment still living high on the hog? Being a selfish person, a narcissis, a wealthy snob is no longer acceptable in America. Those who are at the top of the financial ruination need to come back down to earth with the every day american. The bonuses corporate america and government officials, bankers, etc. need to stop. Money for bank bailouts was not intended for the bankers to give themselves bonuses. What the heck?

I want to see a change starting immediately. Loosen the purse strings, stop the glutony and be giving to your fellow american. We all must live in this country and it was never intended that the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer.

I am the mother of five, one child left at home and a single parent who is also enrolled in college. I am fifty-one years old and know better than what we are seeing in today's society in America. There was a time that the American Dream existed for anyone, now it is only for the priveleged. My nineteen year old daughter is also in school. She is incurring a debt that will be enormous when she receives her degree. There is truly no promise of work for her, but there is the promise of poverty and educational debt the way things are now.

I want the same for my daughter and other children that anyone else wants for theirs. That is the freedoms provided in our Constitution but also financial stability, employment, health insurance, a future in America. Where did that promise go? Into the pockets of the rich, the fat cats, corporate America.

The Donald Trump's of the world must heed warning now and know that the unseen and unheard have reached their maximum capacity of understanding. They are now demanding change and again, it must start at the top and be shared all the way around.

Close our borders, tighten everyone's belt and finally take care of our own. No more homelessness, hungry, children living in shelters because their parents have lost their homes.

Make a change, make a difference and support #OccupyWallStreet and other movements across the country or face the revolution that is coming like a freight train if change does not happen.

  • Sick and tired | 0

I am sick and tired of corporations and banks financing dirty energy, fighting environmental protections, and giving massive bonuses to the CEOs that ruin our economy and destroy our jobs, while also fighting to avoid having to pay taxes that could give universal health care to the rest of us.
Since corporations have shown they can't be responsible on their own, it is time for them to be regulated.
