The occupier's message is clear. We want higher tax rates for the rich, more wall street regulation and overturning of the Citizen's United ruling. And we'll get it!

Corruption can't be tolerated in a free society. While the stock market goes up your power will eventually go back to the people who suffer and die for your profits...

  • Your compensation package | 0

    Dear CEO,

Other than those people that actually save lives (ie. police, firefighters, physicians) no one is worth the outrageous amount that you receive for the job you do. Voluntarily give up most of it and divide it among those people without whom you would not have the job and income you do. In this economic climate, continuing to accept the compensation that you currently do is tantamount to stealing from the poor and watching them die a slow, painful death. Be better than that.

  • Social worker sees the effect | 0

    Dear 1%,

You have no idea what it is like to be on the front line and see people suffer when they lose their homes through foreclosure, when they do not have jobs so no money for food, etc. What I see is an increase in child abuse and other social and family problems. At the same time I see services cut! If we do not turn this around immediately I know we are headed for a destroyed environmental, not enough food and even more increases in the family and social problems which I face daily as a social worker. There must be something you can do to change the disparity, stop buying cnadidates who care only for making the rich richer. Laura Simon, Wilder, VT

  • Avarice & Greed | 0

Greed, avarice and profit taking for the few at the expense of the many won't be tolerated anymore. The system is set up against the people with small incomes. Before I got cancer, I use to have a job with a big salary. I didn't work any harder then than I do now. The compensation for those types of jobs are way out of line. The tax system is totally upside down too. Change your ways before it happens anyway.

Think of your own future, if it comes down to it: stripped of the security force, the luxury, the ease and power to which you are accustomed. Those conditions aren't automatic axioms of the universe.

  • Occupy the Boardroom! | 0

I'm retired, so I depend on investment money to pay my bills. I lost a bundle to the thieves at Enron and Worldcom. I didn't lose much to the big bank thieves, because I'd already pulled most of my money out before they crashed the market. But then the thieves in our government stole my tax money to pay off the big bank thieves, and now they're trying to shut down the social services my tax money was supposed to pay for, instead of getting it back from the thieves they paid off with it.

The thieves in our government are also stealing our rights to our land, air, and water and giving them to a bunch of thieves in the Natural Gas industry, who are lying to us and pretending that they're not just going to trash them all, get rich off the proceeds, and leave us to choke on their waste or go broke cleaning up after them.

And then there's the ruined economy, which means my "cash" investments are no longer earning anything. I've moved most of my "cash" to small local banks and credit unions, so it's only the managed funds that are still under the management of thieves. But those thieves are now assuming they can borrow my money for free, and even charge me for the privilege of loaning it to them. I'm beginning to think I'd be better off using it to stuff a mattress, before they get caught in another heist and bankrupt the FIC.

Enter your story about life in the 99% here.

A more equal society is a society where everyone does better including those on top. If people had good jobs they would have more money to spend. The economy could start moving again. If people had good education and medical care we would have a society of far more mutual interests and solidarity---no one would have to worry about any so-called "class warfare"

Its a no brainer----when one's greed has gotten so strong that it overrides one's reasonable judgement its time for them to move aside---before they no longer have any choice in the matter.

  • Following Milton Friedman's ideas will not benefit you. | 0

I am grateful to you for making things so bad that we, the 99% have joined together, learned about the greed of the 1% that is based on Milton Friedman's hypermobile global economic movement of shock and disaster capitalism.

I invite you to embrace true democracy, equal chances for all through free schools as Jefferson wanted it, help and health for those in need and one vote per person. Please do not support the grinchy 5 on the Supreme Court who acted against the 99% of us. We all know corporations are not people. To help you change your ways and for your better mental and moral health, please read Rebooting the American Dream by Thom Hartmann. Please work as fast and hard as you can to recover true democracy for all. I guarantee you will feel much better and others might even learn to love you.

When i was small poor farmer in the 1950's We went thru a Hurricane called Carla . It wiped us out . No one came in and helped us out . No one brought us clothes or hot meals or put us up in hotels. No sir , We had to hustle and work in any way we could to put food on the table. The government did not help any of us bankrupt poor farmers in South East, Texas out.

Why should my tax dollars now go to you fat cats on Wall Street or the Federal Reserve for that matter and bail you out or our high taxes pay interest to the Federal Reserve and make them even richer . Why don't we have our own bank's instead of letting people from Europe get rich . Why do we to this day still have to help ourselves but bail out rich CEO's and their very well paid workers from the GMC car company and Wall Steet CEO's and the dudes who work for them who are also very rich , when the really poor and very hard working people or never bailed out . The ones who come in at night and clean your officies and haul your trash off. The ones who wait on you at your tables. The ones who clean and press your fancey clothes .They are not even given the time of day. Nobody is paying our loans off for us with Tax dollars. Why, Because we are poor so we dont count .They could care less if we died. They would only miss our services if we died . We do not have GMC or Wall Street on our office doors or Rothchild or Rockerfeller for names .

Its very unfair that our Taxes got to help the very rich and their companys and the poor or middle class get nothing but more Taxes to pay or have to sleep under bridges because no one would bail us out..

Our black brothers are really suffering . They really do not get any help and are always being thrown in jail no matter if they are innocent or not. THat is unfair too. IF somebody gave our poor kids millions and a free education like they are doing the Latino Illegals maybe our kids could make something of themselves too. The black people are suffering the most in this country for lack of jobs . I do not see anyone giving us money to start a green buisness.

I do not see any change at all . If any thing it is getting a whole lot worse. The mean and bad and uncaring or getting meaner and worse. Most of these fat cats could care less if we lived or died. I wont fair tax for all and i wont jobs for all not just the rich and Mexican Aliens . I wont big money sent to the inner cities that will be carefully watched so that it goes to the right places not into another fat cats pocket like it usually does. Yea. We wont a chance to live and thrive and not have to worry about where our next meal is coming from. Most so called assistance ends up going into some one's pocket on the take and our kids never see the aid or funds .

Get rid of the stealers and the crooks and send these duds to jail . We are all tired of begging for money that could be faily watched and made sure to get to the right places to help our people. So they could after learning some things help thereselves and others that were like them at one time..

I wont those landlords that make money off the poor and wont keep rats out of the buildings and no running water in the pipes and never fix a thing sent to jail for human cruelty .

  • Rich enough? | 0

Why can't you be satisfied with being rich but still pay your fair share of taxes and stop contributing to a decline in living standards for the rest of us by opposing social programs and environmental regulations? Does your greed know no bounds? Don't you care about the future of the world or just your own personal wealth? Be responsible! Try to make the world a better place.

Here it goes, I am a 99% not because of my employment or lack of employment status, but because I am a victim of the corporate greed and maliciousness toward the middle class. I am a victim of the health insurance, life insurance, hiome insutance, etc. policies that they have used like free money to finance schemes that generate no money, but give larger bonuses to their executive boards and their major stock holders. I am a victim of their credit card scams that they have engineered to stop people from paying dwn personal debt. I am a victim of their housing & mortgage financing policies, which first raided the savings of people and then goes to foreclose on the American Dream. I am a victim of the lack of government regulations and the enforcing of them which would deter all the other policies. I am the victim of the policy of greed that finances corporate lawyers and rewards them with profit for detroying the lives of the middle class. I am a victim of the 1% because I cannot practice my profession since loans are not being readily given for new construction. I am a victim because the House GOP and Senate GOP do not believe in passing the jobs bill that would create jobs and make it easier for people to want to do a little more living. I am a victim of the social issue agenda of the GOP, who do not care about these social issues that they insist on voting for. I am a victim of the GOP's goal of making President Obama a one term President. I am a victim of President Obama's lack of agressiveness during his first two years in office to show that GOP was out to do harm to this country, which was basically continuing the policies of George W. Bush & Dickless Cheney. I am a victim.....NO!!!!! I refuse to be a victim no more!!!!! The Movement must move into the board room by direct action....either sell your stocks and mutual funds or start buying 1 share of any company you want to change.....it's time to take back the street...Wall Street, that is.

Pay in money to bail out the gambling habit of the big banks as well as to suffer the consequences of a trashed economy. Then they take their obscene bonuses and complain that they are not being treated well enough. I say enough of the bankers. The Too Big To Fail need to be broken up.

    We need to:
    1. Get out of Iraq
    2. Get out of Afghanistan
    3. Reduce aid to the rest of the world.
    4. Close all Governor Mansions and turn them into money making Museums.
    5. Governors can serve the public better by having their offices in one of our many
    empty malls.
    6. Tax all Churches. They make money, lots of money.
    7. All burocrats at all levels of government have to take a large cut in pay.
    8. Two year terms MAX for CON Gress and Albany !
    9. End the Tax breaks for the rich.

We must introduce a bill in Congress to increase the tax percentage
on the upper two percent rich to FIFTY PERCENT, with NO LOOPHOLES!
Then we must make it clear to all of Congress that anyone of them
who do not vote for the bill will be voted out of office.
We The Middle Class are still the largest percentage of people in The United States.
So we have the collective power to stop being slaves to
the GREEDY RICH and to CON Gress!

  • My bonus? | 0

    Dear CEO:

My bonus is that I can sleep at night knowing that I have not ruined someone else's life and that I do what I can in my home and neighborhood to help this earth's environment. What do you do with your millions/billions? Buy ANOTHER home, yacht, island, plane, etc. Do you ever have to think twice about paying $50.00 for a pair of shoes that will have to last you the rest of the year;wear the same clothes until they no longer fit or look like rags; hope that your paycheck will cover the entire month's bills; have hand-me-down clothes for your children from someone outside their siblings? Do EVER think of how the 'other 99%' must struggle to have a decent income, home, insurance, food, etc?
Your may SAY you are a Christian, but there are none of the teachings of Christ being lived in your life. And as an old saying goes, "What goes around, comes around." The greed and utter disregard of 99% of the people will be your downfall---sooner or later.

  • The great divide | 0

Donna and I have been concerned for many years at the growing divide between the moneyed and poor--the middle is disappearing at a rapid rate as is well known.

    Animosity is building.

Historically, when the masses get too disenchanted with their position is society, they rise up and significant societal change happens--usually with accompanying violence.

The animosity of the American Public is near a boiling point as demonstrated by recent events regarding Wall Street.

Where is the leadership with authority to make significant change directed at re-building the middle class? Well paying, stable jobs will be a big step in the direction of solving our many economic problems.
