  • Corporations out of control are a curse on society! | 0

Corporate profits are not so important that you need to quit acting like a human being and act like a monster instead. Is killing Democracy your way of paying this country back for all you have been allowed to steal. We are going to do something about you, and your ilk, whether you like it or not. The more you use your pigs to push us around the more we are going to stand, and push back. Starting being something positive for the people, whether it is through lending, or remortgaging, would be a good place to start to show you are good for America. If I were president, I would move very quickly towards making your bank a public utility.

  • Someone Elses America... | 0

I used to have an America. I shared it with millions. We worked hard, shared the dream, and played by the rules. When we had a problem legislators sat down and negotiated a solution. Slowly it came to be less and less my America...the work lifetime I spent earning my pension wasn't enough. It was said we couldn't afford pensions; they were a mistake America made. Social Security, too, was a mistake, it was said. My grandchildren found it harder and harder to get meaningful financial aid for college. Unions were dismantled and millions of jobs went across the water...people hurried in the door of Walmart and dozens and dozens of businesses went away down on Main Street. We no longer had the shared dream. The so called "job creators" did what they pleased, and the Tea Party wore guns and preached at us from the television. A politician yelled "You Lie" at our President, and added a million dollars to his coffers in a day just for having done so.
It is almost too late, but we in the Middle Class want our America back, and we are willing to work to see it happen.

  • Occupy the Boardroom! | 0

Penniless, I look for something, anything - work that makes (1) sense and (2) honor/gratification. Obviously, MONEY (and laid-back greed) care little about me, a small cypher within this argument. But I am of value . . . despite the play of money/personal-and-corporate grabbing.

  • Even Henry Ford figured out that he would go broke | 0

Yeah, good old, anti-semitic, why should I deal with a union, Henry Ford, figured out that if his workers could not afford a car and did not have the time to use it or the money to spend when they got there. -- that he would go broke.

I have waited a long time for enlightened self-interest to kick in on Wall Street. It hasn't, for the same reason Henry Ford and a whole bunch of others never came to it by themselves, they had to have it pointed out by the people they were busy making money from.

Our air, water, and soil is not worth your corporate profits. The human rights of workers all over the world are not worth your corporate profits. The children who have been exploited by big Pharma and others in maquiladoras are not worth your corporate profits. The middle class is being bled to death to insure money for you guys, and you are not worth one police officer, one social worker, or one teacher.

This is not something you can spin back into your control. You need to bring everyone to the table so we can work this out. You do not want to live as so many of us have, and you will once you have successfully bankrupted all of us.

In high school, they (my teachers, my guidance counselor, my family) told me college was the proper path to a successful life. They forgot to mention the number of unemployed college graduates who are left on their own with years of acquired knowledge and their name on a fancy piece of paper. Here I am, in college, already in thousands of dollars of debt. I was in debt before I moved into my dorm. I was in debt before I even signed up for my classes. Both of my parents are unemployed, and have been for most of my life. We try. My younger brother has autism. He is getting older. If we can't get jobs, how are the disabled and mentally handicapped Americans expected to make a living for themselves? I worry. And to know that there are people out there sitting on millions, working over-glorified jobs while there are millions of US looking to support ourselves....I cry. We ask for compassion, understanding, equality. A fair playing field. I don't need a college education for these qualities. Maybe just a visit to a pre-kindergarten class - one that hasn't been eliminated because of budget cuts.

We have no complaint about profits. It's the outrageous profits as a result of off-shoring, extreme tax advantages, enormous CEO and other executive salaries plus bonuses plus stock options that we strongly object to.

Further, we object to the banks, after being bailed out by taxpayers, stalling or denying applications for small business loans or loan modifications stalled long enough for foreclosures to go into effect. And husbanding the enormous profits made while, in some cases, creating new fees.

Huge profits that sink our environment and our economy stink.

  • What Middle Class America? | 0

Yes, it is way past time for the 1% to hear from the rest of us!! Middle class America has been supporting the country for way to long and the light at the end of the tunnel for the middle class has been snuffed out by corporate greed. Soon there will be no middle class left and one has to wonder if the 1% will finally step up to the plate. America will be 99% poverty and how is the 1% going to keep the country afloat with all their greed?

I think you people who are in the 1% of Americans who have become rich off the backs of the middle class of Americans need to stop and think about what you are doing and the message you are sending. Earning money honestly is one thing, taking dirty money off the backs of others is another. Sounds to me like you'd better listen up to the people protesting outside your doors. They don't appear to be giving up easily or shutting up any time soon. Take heed you nasty big bank executives who are taking billions of dollars of dirty money!

  • financial community pay | 0

the value-added by the financial community does not justify their compensation. Same with the CEO of many corporations. The appropriate answer is to significantly increase the tax on the most wealthy.

the recession was caused by the greed of the banks and the lack of regulation by the government. Put the responsible bankers in jail and significantly increase the regulation of the financial industry.

  • Asking for the truth | 0

I simply cannot believe that there are people in the world who value money more than clean air and clean water, money more than ancient mountains and pristine Arctic wilderness, money more than healthy children and bountiful wildlife. Is it that you do not see us because our houses are small, our cars aging, our clothes out of style? As the Whos said to Horton, We are here! We are Here! We are here! And we are many. Open your eyes and listen if you cannot see. Open your minds and imagine a world where money is not the highest value. It is here, too.

  • Taking Our Country Back! | 0

I am part of the 99%... the more you denigrate and ignore the growing discontent, the faster things will change. People are fed up with the upside down system of inequality set up to benefit only the "select few" who are rich beyond the wildest dreams of our Founding Fathers. You and yours have tried to destroy the American Dream by making it impossible for regular Americans to achieve anything worthwhile in their lives. Your goal is to undermine society to the point where education is only meant to teach servitude, and only get kids ready for the workforce, but not get them to become risk takers or critical thinkers, because that will make them see through your plots and machinations. Enough is enough! We the People want out country back! We WILL take our country back from the filthy rich who have usurped our Rights as set forth by the Founding Fathers in OUR Constitution and Bill of Rights.

  • Join Your Community, Join Your Country | 0

    Hey, 1%ers:

Its time to realize that you are part of a community. Stop making decisions that benefit only yourselves and the bottom line. Start thinking of and interacting with the rest of us - you'll feel better!

Because, there is a point when you can have too much money (it damages you, it eats away at your soul), but you can never have too many friends.

Your country needs you to join us, join in, and start working together. Share ideas, share the wealth and share our resources. The times when our country has been most prosperous and peaceful is when we are all doing well. The times of most unrest and economic turmoil are when some hoard and the rest suffer.

    Don't be a hoarder, be a sharer!

P.S. If by the tone here you think I am not angry, you are mistaken. But I want to focus on what is positive that we can do together. However, beware, if nothing changes, anger will take over for all of us.
