I Reject Citizens United | 0
I urge you to discontinue the use of political donations and lobbying to influence public politics. Doing so has and continues to have a disproportionate, disenfranchising, and undemocratic effect on the citizens, economy, and environment of the U.S. and the world at large. Thank you for considering my comments. Alexander Matheson Concord, MA 01742
The Common Good | 0
To Whom it May Concern, I am writing out of deep concern for my fellow citizens. As a minister I have witnessed as an increasing number of ordinary citizens have sunk into increasingly poverty conditions. Many have had to sell their houses, have lost their jobs, have lost their retirement. More and more people are relying on increasingly dwindling public resources, church driven charities. As a minister who works to serve the public I pay taxes- why don't you? Rali 02026
I invite You to Compassion | 0
I invite you to walk beside me for ONE week to understand what is happening to the 99% of good American people. It's that simple. I am not kidding. One week next to me as I struggle at 63 years of age to keep a roof over my head and pay my bills would teach you everything. Of course, not all folks can be compassionate. But let's give it a try. Barbara HERNLY San Diego, CT 92105-5129

My son has been looking for work since being laid off 2 years ago. While you enjoy big salaries, big bonuses and low taxes, my son has to pay a penalty for tapping his retirement funds in order to live. You may laugh at those at "Occupy Wall Street," but we are hard working people and not what some of you have called the fringe or hippie people. May you come to know the hardships you have caused. No shame in banking | 0
I don’t wish anyone poverty or ill will. But when banks knowingly use other people’s money to scam the customer, enrich themselves and treat us like we are idots - well it’s just insulting. So maybe I wish a little reality on the individuals in the banking industry. Maybe it would be nice if you weren’t entitled to float above the rest of us and act like it’s really not “you”, it’s the industry; like you couldn’t make a difference even if you tried. Maybe it would be nice if the bankers who know deep down inside that the protesteres are correct could find a backbone and stand up and agree. Stand up and put the right thing before the easy thing. You are stinking up the room and pretending you aren’t the one who passed gas.
What Your Mother Must Have Taught You | 0
Dear Major Bank Executives, I'm sure at some point (yes, when you were very young) your mother must have taught you that when someone gives you a gift, takes care of you or in some other way improves your life, the proper etiquette is for you to return the favor. Well, I am part of the 99% who bailed you out when your banks were ready to collapse. You have not yet found it in your hearts (pocketbooks? bottomline?) to open credit back up to us, stop foreclosures, more actively encourage adjustments to mortgages for those underwater, reduce fees and interest rates. Seeing the bigger bonuses you gave yourselves this year were painful enough, and now you want to charge us for using our debit cards? Have you no shame? Stephanie Boers Ferndale, CA 95536

I am still angry at Bank of America's policy of getting rich on the backs of people with limited incomes by charging enormous fees for overdrafts by setting deductions from accounts from largest to smallest so you can collect more. People need to know that there is a Class-action Lawsuit against Bank of America for this very practice, a practice that targets people with low incomes and noone else! It was a practice which was deliberate and disgusting.I encourage other's like me to do what I did, pull all of my money out of the banks and use Credit Unions or none at all!! Joyce 02740

Your message here. Tell Wall Street how you feel. The world is awakening to the despicable inequality that exists. Advancements in global communications ensures the truth is spreading fast as we the 99% are growing poorer. How does a dozen expensive cars, private jet planes, bankrolling countless non-eco-friendly corporations, or endless properties for each of you 1%ers equate poverty, pollution and unfair opportunities for the rest of us 99%??? The founding fathers would be ashamed and disgusted of the greediness you display. We've let you get away with this for much too long, and as a young, proud African-American woman, I REFUSE to see this country finacially and socially decimated for the likes of you. I have a future, my generation has a future, and my children WILL have a future not tampered with by you. Regina Taylor La Puente, CA 91744
the fallout for the poor | 0
I work in a shelter and transitional housing program for homeless families. Part of what we do is help families stabilize and get back on their feet. With the unemployment crisis, the competition for even low paying jobs is such that the individuals we work with cannot even begin to put their lives back together. Without income they cannot apply for housing. They languish in homeless placements like ours which means others who need our help cannot come into the program to get the support they need to move on. Life must be awful lonely at the top. I wanted to reach out and let you know that I, as a member of the 99%, cared that you might be lonely. Then I had a second thought and realized that because you are one of those who wrecked the economy and our environment and then gave yourself fat bonuses, why should I care if you are lonely. In fact, you may have to build a tall thick fence around yourself for protection from the angry 99%ers, which would make you even more lonely. So sad! Gail Safrit Greensboro, NC 27403

Ladies & Gentlemen... You are responsible for this world & those who inhabit it as we all are. Your actions are to be considered less than Christian, less than American if you put profits before people. Greed breeds what is tantamount to sin & destruction if your actions ruin the water, air & soil...the very environment of all we are & Mother Earth...let alone the well being of your fellow man. Time to man up & do what is right to become true stewards of the earth & your fellow man. You have been given many blessings. It is time to make the wrongs right. Time to pitch in & make America what it has always been...a beacon for the lost & downtrodden. There is enough to go around so that true opportunity can be shared by all. We have more poor, sick & dying children than many 3rd world countries. It's time to do what is right for God, country & your fellow man! David Laczi 14217

Your greed and lust for power is destroying the Earth. Get out of the way petroleum corporations and banks. The 99% can and will save the Earth, the 99% and you 1% also. James Facette Dayton, OH 45409
Lobbyists and monopolies | 0
We have had it with the political arrangement in this country that allows corporations to control our politicians by unlimited funds because of Citizens United and the ridiculous lobbying that goes on in Washington. The entire government of the US is bought and paid for by the corporations that really run the show. We are tired of having products like Monsanto's GMOs forced on everyone whether we want it or not. We are tired of monopolies in almost every industry. We want change--- REAL CHANGE----- not the same old business as usual that the Obama administration has given us after promising otherwise. I stand with the 99%! Michael Coughenour Ukiah, CA 95482

My name is Rev. Elizabeth Ann King, I am a minister with the United Church of Christ and have been for over 23 years. The people in my congregation are suffering because of the policies your cooperations have had in place for decades. Policies that have everything to do with making you and your shareholders wealthy, while making those who work for you work for pennies on every dollar you take home. Plus you rip through the environment without taking into account the kinds of long term damage you are doing to the planet and to us as we are now reaping the benefints of toxic chemicals that have been leaching into the earth and the ground water for decades because to get rid of them safely was deemed to be "cost prohibitive" to you cooperation. If you children and grandchildren lived in the areas affected by your "make a buck at all costs" policy, and they developed any number of the diseases now linked to exposure to toxic waste of all kinds, would you feel differently? But of course no one in your family lives there. They are able to afford beautiful homes where industrial smog and or run off is not tolerated. They are able to ensure that their children attend private schools where contamination of the soil and drinking water is not a problem. The middle class and the poor families are the ones who have born the burden of policies. And when they are tried to sue your companies they have been stonewalled at every turn.
I am deeply ashamed to be an American, who owns stock in cooporations with histories of abuse just as bad as yours. Howver, I think it's time to sell those holdings and move into areas of investment that do not contribute the increase of illness and death in this country, nor contribute to the continued distruction of the earth upon which we live, the water we cannot live without and the air which we need to survive. No more!
Rev. Elizabeth An King

Your greed is limitless. Your lack of patriotism and humanity is disgusting. You have lined your pockets while you played your games with our money. I know you don't care what I think or anyone thinks. I'd say more but I don't think you have the ears to hear it. It is clearly going to take a lot of voices and a lot of feet on the ground to take this country back. We've reached the tipping point. Patricia Collins 91104
Credit Card Interest Rates | 0
I've had a professional sales & marketing career advancing to the VP level. I also retain a "too big to fail" bank credit card. I've used that card regularly for more than 25 years for business and personal activity. When Congress reformed regulations mandating interest increases applied to future purchases only, my interest rate immediately jumped from 12.99% to 19.99% for all future activity...a 54% increase! A telcom request to keep the initial rate was ignored. My balance at the time was $0,00! My credit score then and now remains very high! The interest rate is claimed to be variable. Yet it has never been reduced. My rate remains at 20% at a time when the largest bankss borrow from the Fed for near 0%. This is simply greed and exercising of the "unfair advantage"! We must rejoin usury law and Glass-Steagall. The financial industry must be reformed to benefit Main Street not only Wall Street. No more "Managed Casinos"! that produce false wealth. John 93422
Fairness in wealth | 1
You have ridden on our backs long enough. I'm told, by my so-called wealth counselor, that I need to cut back now or cut back later in my "lavish" barely middle-class lifestyle. It was the so-called non-profit 401K managed for my university that gambled my hard-earned money in those subprime mortgage bundlings and other disasters, and now I'm to pay, while you robbers live off the high hog. It's time for you to pay your fair share. Anca Vlasopolos Grosse Pointe, MI 48230

Surely you cannot be blind and deaf to those you have hurt with practices that have made you richer by robbing the from the 99%. My kids are struggling with student loans, my friend is in foreclosure, I am barely getting by on my retirement income and I know I am better off than many others. How can you pay yourselves millions of dollars while fighting minimum wage for your workers, a wage that is not even livable. Wake up before it is too late. Barbara 97214
