  • Occupy the Boardroom! | 0

I am newly married. With that comes all of the challenges you can imagine. One challenge is beginning our financial life together - working out budgets, being responsible, planning for the future, etc. But how can we plan for our future when my husband's parents' house is being foreclosed on? They will soon have nowhere to live and it will fall on us to help support them. If you create a world in which people have no hope for the future, it is up to you. However, that will not only be my children's future and legacy, but it will also be one that your children and loved ones will have to face as well. If we are all on a boat, and I drill a hole under my seat, we all go down. If you are only concerned for yourself, your bottom line, your board, your shareholders, then you are sinking us all.

In a perfect world, you assholes would be in fear for your pathetic, disgusting lives. As it is, there will be a reckoning, and many of you will spend the remainders of your lives in prison, your property seized and distributed throughout society. Never again will scum like you call the shots, here in the U.S., and around the world. Damn you.

    Dear 1%,
The policies you enact to extract wealth from our communities are undemocratic and unethical. I don't trust your rhetoric of "growth" that will supposedly trickle down to me and the people I know and love.

Everyone deserves a decent livelihood. Multinational banks and corporations threaten basic human rights in their everyday activities, which take advantage of our labor and deny resources to the people who need them most. I've made a lifetime commitment to raising awareness and empowering people - we are NOT at the mercy of the system you've shaped to consolidate wealth and power.

People everywhere are building alternatives that truly serve people. It's not too late for you to change your life, too, and begin to act ethically.

  • What would you march for? | 0

When would you be willing to set aside your personal interests and curb your efforts to expand your bottom line and that of your shareholders to show common cause with your fellow citizens, who are poorly served by our democracy and our economy as it is currently organized?

Can you see a way to continue to prosper in this economy without entailing losses in the standard of living of your fellow Americans?

How long can you maintain your lifestyle if you don't? Will your children have the same carte blanche that you have enjoyed?

    Please think about it.

  • I am part of the 100% | 0

    Dear David Viniar,
first of i would like to stress that I DO NOT condemn the so called 1%. I am not part of the 99%, but I am part of the 100%.
It’s becoming more and more apparent that we, as a human race, are so interconnected and interdependent that we have to find a way that reflects that reality. Our current economy promotes personal benefit above all and that is becoming no longer sustainable. We all carry responsibility in having lived with this mindset all our lives, from small actions that might have affected one or a few people in our lives to big actions that affected millions. This is not about casting blame on anyone, but a sincere attempt to find a way that can allow people all over the world a life lived with dignity, peace and joy. We need to find a way that allows for “success” without harming THE WHOLE . Yes, we can still thrive individually, but we need to keep THE WHOLE in mind. We are The WHOLE, we are the 100%. “We are all in the same boat” sais Paul Krugman ( Nobel Prize Laureate in Economics).
I, personally, feel very abundant in my life. I live a simple life, but I feel a lot of love, joy and peace, for which I am very grateful. I don’t need much, because I have found happiness within. So, I don’t feel that we all need to be rich to be happy- in fact I have discovered that giving and sharing is the most beautiful and fulfilling life one can live.
I am writing this letter to let you know that I care about ALL our well being and that I don’t wish any harm on anyone. I know that, if we all come together, can find a solution that meets the needs of ALL.
Thank you so much for reading my letter.
    with warm regards,
    Kenya DeRosa
  • The American tsunami- coming to banks everywhere! | 0

    David-
On the way home from work the other night, I got a call from Chase.  They wanted to know when I would “make good” on my ATM card.  It was overdrawn by $3.00
The overdraft charge by Chase was $34.99 or some such nonsense!  I was horrified that my small over draft would cause me to spend an additional $35 to pay Chase more money.  I was advised that I needed to take care of this immediately since the account would incur charges for each day it was in overdraft!
I advised the rather curt young speaker that I would be in this weekend to cancel my account.
The credit union I go to sends me an email and it is a $2.00 fee!!  Maybe that is the difference between paying your CEO  Bazillion dollars and the CEO of the credit union a few hundred thou, if that!!!
I urge you to get your banksters to think twice about their strategies.  Americans will make a difference when there are many fewer customers!!!  Which will mean you and the boyz will have to take much LESS of a salary as a member of the BOD.
Greed is not acceptable.  Social responsiblity is no longer a trait in American business that is sought- by those who run their companies.  Perhaps a change is necessary!  Think before the tsunami comes to Chase’s shore!
It is the opinion of 99% of us that Chase is in overdraft right now and has been for a long time.  You need to pay the charges that are mounting as time goes on!
  • We are all the same and the life can be fine for everybody | 0

    Joe
We are all the same, be the 1% or the all of other 99%. We need to eat, the food is the same, the cost. We need to dress, we dress the same way, of course, some want to spend a little more in the dress - but they want that, it is not that it is necessary, so the cost to dress is the same for everybody. We need to go the school, and school can be public for everybody, of course, it is public but it is not gratis, the teachers have to be paid, and a lot more. Schools do really cost a lot, yeah, the Public School. Then, we need health, Public Health for everybody.  Well this is the point, if the 1% pays correctly its taxes then we all will have what we need - justice. Simple! Finish consummation, finish the stupid wars, let’s back to bike riding - no oil. The streets will be calm, the air will be good again. The life will be nice for everybody once again. This is so simple!
  • your bank is no longer my bank | 0

Bank of America had the right to treat me poorly, and I had the right to put my money in a local credit union. Your money means nothing. Your insulated club of selfish manipulators means nothing. I loathe the inequality in this world but feel sorriest for you.

  • Public Education | 0

    Dear Mr. Blankfein,
I am a public school teacher in Allendale, NJ. While Goldman Sachs accepted a 10 billion dollar bailout, thousands of public school employees in NYC alone lost their jobs, and class sizes skyrocketed. How can we educate the employees of tomorrow if we do not have the proper staffing or resources to do so? Do you remember how many students were in each class when you went to school?
    Sincerely,

  • Dear Thomas K Montag, | 0

The value of my mortgage obtained from your bank was worth  more than half of the current value of my house. I also got laid off from my job and was unable to reacquire another job. I do accounting for construction/industrial. I had to walk away from my house thanks to you. I wish, but know it won’t happen, that something like this happens to you so you understand what you have done to me, personally, and to EVERYONE else across USA that is in my position, because of your shoddy and incompetent accounting policies. We, as the 99% are supposed to be able to rely on people like you for making intelligent decisions - you have shown us that you are not deserving of your position and salary. Thanks for nothing.
  • Please think about it | 0

    Dear Thomas,
listen, before we start out on the wrong foot, I just want to say that you’re probably not a bad guy. I have friends and family who work for banks, and they’re not bad people- in fact, they’re very nice people, who just want to earn a paycheck and go home and spend time with their families.
With that being said, I’d like you to take a moment to think about what Bank of America does not only to this country, but to its customers. We both know that the bank exploits not only its own consumers’ ignorance, but also its lobbying power— in order to maximize profits and further squeeze money out of those who trust it.
I’d like you to actively fight Bank of America’s exploitative machinations. I’d like you to treat others as you’d like to be treated— to realize that the bank’s actions have devastating affects on real people’s lives.
I’m not optimistic about your openness to my message, Thomas. But I do believe in trying to reach out to you. You and I aren’t so different— and I truly believe that if we both attempt to make the world a better place (as opposed to a more profitable place), we can succeed.
    Best,
    Kate Hamill

  • Work | 0

    Hi Joe,
My name is David Perry.  I recently graduated from college with an excellent degree and a strong desire to enter the workforce.  However, due to certain injustices perpetuated by our government in the name of neoliberal policy and obscure notions of economic desert, I am left without the ability to gain employment at any major institution I apply to.  The truly unfortunate fact about this situation is that I WANT TO WORK but I am unable to do so because I am being actively prevented from doing so.  This is a travesty and a complete miscarriage of justice.
Please consider hiring more employees and please consider reducing your big fat bonus checks so that the rest of us can get a job so we can feed ourselves and the ones we love.
    David

  • Hey | 0

I’m from the 99%.  I work a lot and don’t make much money.  It sucks.
  • Why so greedy? | 0

You should be ashamed of the way your company conducts business. You happily accept bailouts, initiate a $5 to use our own money, and then offer up $11 million to very important executives you left go so they won’t steal your customers? Well, sir, that’s not a very smart idea. How many accounts have been closed since you announced that fee? How many more do you think will continue to be closed as you continue to bankrupt our country? Do you think us taxpayers find it appealing that you use OUR tax dollars as a bailout, raise fees, then give people exorbitant bonuses?!?!??! Maybe if you all stopped tipping yourselves, you wouldnt need a bailout now would ya? You should be ashamed! You should be disgusted! How do you sleep at night?!?!?!??!? You are a disgusting individual and maybe someone you’ll realize that. None of you people deserve the money you make. You’re just pure evil.

Once your granddaddies had the sense to know that if they wanted to stay rich and keep the system working that made them rich, then they had to make sure the people who worked for them made enough money to buy the products they made. Some of them also realized it made good sense to keep those people reasonably healthy so they could make it to work most of the time, so they provided health insurance and some modest vacation time to the working classes.

Now you guys have lost all sense and greed has overtaken your souls and your minds. You are killing the very system that made you wealthy and powerful and driving the other 99% to unify and revolt.

Now we understand you and your system and the government you own that protects you. We're mad as hell, and we're really not going to take it anymore. We understand the power of unity and community.

The 99% is answering back, taking action, and building a new society and I'm afraid it is one where no oligarchs, plutocrats, and kleptocrats will have a place. So sorry.

  • Misdeeds are like boomerangs! | 0

If the shoe fits....you know who you are!

If I were younger (86), I would be out there with the protesters just the way my wife and I were with MLK,Jr. in Selma, Alabama in 1965. Our non-violent action was respnsible for the voting rights act, for which we are most proud.

The more I read, the more I recognize the dastardly irrisponsible actions taken by your colleagues that caused the fiscal mess in which we find ourselves.

"Confidence Men" is a good example. Within the structure of such organizations, how can any of sleep at night understanding the severe pain you have caused for so many people....as well as nations across the world?

Greed was just a word until you took possession of it. Is it any wonder that the masses are fed up
    with what you have wrought?

You will never live to spend you ill-gained riches.
Your progeny will never respect the way they may inherit your dirty money.

You have gotten away with avoiding prison but misdeeds are like boomerangs. You can still find yourselves in the path of an instument of distruction.

Think of the legacy you leave, it is not worth it!
