  • Occupy the Boardroom! | 0

    To the CEOs and Boardmembers:
Your lack of compassion and greed will eventually be your undoing. To the Occupyers: Your bravery should make all Americans wish they could be there with you, to bear witness to what non-violence can accomplish, and to bear witness to what greed has done to OUR beloved country.

  • CORPORATE GREED | 0

.I think it is time for you to be honest with yourselves and see your responsibility in our financial difficulties. You can have all the bonuses imaginable but what good is it if the country goes down the tube? Imagine an entire world as a "third world country".

Your message here. Tell Wall Street how you feel.you are guilty. you know it. i know it the world knows it.
and the worst part is that you have corrupted the souls of the innocents that believed in you at the bank. those poor little men and women behind the window that work for you for a penitence and trust that they will be unsullied by your guilt, who raise their children to balance the check books of their lives after your fashion and in your way.
you are such a disappointment to the children to the children of the earth.

Your message here. Tell Wall Street how you feel.
I hope you clarify your message. Many wealthy Americans are anxiously waiting for the opportunity to share their wealth, like the wealthy humanitarian Warren Buffet. It’s the Senate Republicans and a few Senate Democrats who have taken a Grover Norquist pledge Not to Raise Taxes. They have effectively killed President Obama’s Jobs Bill in which he raises taxes on the 1% to Fully Fund The Jobs Bill. Please also direct your anger at two of the true villains; the Billionaire KOKH Brothers. They have maliciously supported legislation and repellent Governors to pass into law regressive voting rules that disenfranchise likely Democratic voters: minorities, working poor, students, poor older men and women. The bailed out banks with our tax dollars reap billions and reap nothing for the 99%.

I support the enthusiastic explosion of indignant outrage at our democracy’s slide into a full blown Oligarchy. Elizabeth Warren embodies the outrage we all feel and has the stunning ability to clearly and with great force informed by a lifelong consumer advocate history to present an irrefutable message.

  • Greed | 0

      Sirs:
Your greed is the prime reason for the economic mess we are facing. There is no one in the world who deserves a bonus of tens of millions of dollars while laying off thousands of workers. Have you given any thought to the ripples such layoffs have on the economy? Apparently not, as you continue to accumulate as much personal wealth as you can while bankrupting what is left of the middle (working) class. If you read history and philosophy (Hegel comes to mind) you would see how short sighted you are!
What's your next step, building vomitoriums?

Whatever happened to the old adage that what was good for America was good for all Americans. You folks have gotten fat and greedy beyond your worth and need to reassess what type of world you want to live in. Unless you want to live in a gated secured community then you will probably want to feel safe going to the beach or shopping, That I believe will not be possible if your class warfare is not ended and you separate yourselves further from the rest of us. Nowhere will be safe for you, your families and your friends. Is that the society you wanted you children to grow up in.?.

  • A fair wage for a good day's work. | 0

We, a nation, are being dragged back to a disgraceful past, the early 1900's, when workers were used to fatten industry. I know lots of people who are working longer work weeks, often 50- 55 hours a week, who haven't seen a significant pay raise in more than four years. The 1% is getting fatter as the rest of us get poorer.

In spite of that, we see fellow workers lose their jobs as companies squeeze harder for profits and even outsource our jobs when they can.

Government is not on our side. It's up to us to make our government represent the rest of us, the 99%.

  • What to do with thieves? | 0

If someone robs you, you would want them caught and punished and your money returned.

Well, that is what the 99% want. The Wall Street financiers who created the economic crisis, emptying pension funds and risking our money should be caught and punished and our money returned.

If a thief has an excuse - his wife was ill, her children needed to go to a better school - do you take that under consideration when wanting your money back? No.

And so there can be NO EXCUSE for what the banks and investment firms and ratings agencies did. Theft is wrong. Corruption and greed are not excuses.

Furthermore, if people find a new way of stealing - think hacking - does that make it legal? No. And that is why that beyond no excuses. we MUST HAVE REGULATIONS. Put into place, updated regularly and ENFORCED.

If a millionaire embezzles money should she get a free pass because she is from the ruling class? Obviously not.

Therefore ALL THOSE who contributed to the financial meltdown, ALL THOSE who received bailouts with no strings attached, ALL THOSE who are now raking in usurious salaries and million dollar bonuses MUST SUFFER FOR THEIR SINS and REPAY MAIN STREET.

Can you really think well of yourselves having destroyed so many lives for your own short term profit. SHAME ON YOU!

  • Greedy Banksters | 0

You will say it is not your fault. Who entered into billions of dollars in derivative contracts that eventually failed? Who actually benefited from those failures - Goldman, JPMorgan, Chase Manhattan, UBS, etc. etc. Who bet against their own customers? Who paid the price for your greed? My grandmother who now gets zero interest on her savings, my kids who are now unemployed, my neighbor who lost their home, the millions of Americans who lost healthcare, the list goes on.
Your greed has cost Americans their future. You made billions while the rest of the world sucks wind.

You owe a debt to society to act responsibly. It is about time to take this responsibility seriously. Be satisfied with **reasonable** compensation and do some good with your life.
