The robber barons of the financial industry do little to help the economy. Instead of investing in American companies, Wall Street prefers to gamble with depositers money on speculation and exotic financial transactions which even they do not understand. When the gambling results in huge losses which happened it 2008, these parasites cry for the federal government to bail them out. At the same time, the banksters wail about regulation when it was the lack of regulations which got us into this mess to start with.

Bring back Glass-Steagall! There should be a separation between commercial banks and investment banks. If investment banks want to risk their money on gambles then let them, but do not bail them out. Let the commercial banks function as they used to and lend money to businesses, particularly those industries which actually produce something.

Our banking industry is not supportive of the American economy and needs radical reform.

  • How do you sleep at night? | 0

That you can throw other people and their families under the proverbial bus financially is one thing, but I can only reason that you all must be childless-- I don't know how anybody could sleep making choices concerning esp. the environment that will leave a polluted, toxic world for his or her own offspring.

You can start Wall Street's "rehabilitation" by firing your lobbyists and start acting like real Americans who support the rules instead of finding loopholes in order to avoid them.
Ethics can't be taught, but you can stop influencing legislators with campaign money. You see, that's unethical !
Why not put those dollars behind real campaign reform? That way, the 99% can make their voices heard.

  • Don't just sit there, Monica | 0

    Dear Monica,
I am sure that you do not feel you are personally responsible for the new Bank of America fees. After all, you weren’t the only one to approve that decision, were you? But as this movement proves, if you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything.
We need people like you - people with power and I am sure with a heart - to stand up in your boardrooms and demand some change!
Perhaps you think that the 99% are all a bunch of displaced hippies. My 65-year-old disabled mother-in-law, a widow who worked all her life and can’t afford to retire. Oh, and her house was just destroyed in a flood. My husband whose 401K has pretty much disappeared as his health insurance rises, and he clings to a job at a company that lays off more people everyday while his workload increases and his pay decreases. My two-year-old son whose college account we so diligently paid into is now dwindling to far less than we put in.

We aren’t even Bank of America customers. But we implore you – please take a good, hard look at what is happening in your boardrooms. People who work hard and try to do the right thing and just live their lives are being put in impossible positions. We cannot afford to live like this anymore – none of us.

The only reason that I am keeping my money in Citibank is because I haven’t found any other bank that makes me think it will be any safer in it than in yours or under my mattress. At least credit unions have better reputations in their communities in terms of car and home loans, in the betterment of their immediate community. Citibank’s current ads for mortgages are reprehensible; “I have my hands full. So I have Citibank handling my mortgage.” What about Citibank mortgage consultants would make me feel confident and calm after events of the last few years? What do you mean “handle?” Does Citibank pay for my house? I’m the one handling it. Don’t make it look like a Norman Rockwell painting. It insults the intellegence of the 99%.

    Hi Lloyd!
I was wondering…since you rule the World, could you pass a law which would ban psychopatic individuals from being politicians and CEOs of powerful corporations? I think the World would be a much nicer place to rule over.
    Cheers,
    Sanya

If you will look outside your window you will see several thousand Patriots that you have taken advantage of.  We are taking back the Congress that you and your kind have bought  with OUR money.  I am 70 and still have to work because of the way you and your ilk cheated me out of my 401(k).
