The Middle Class | 0
It's the middle class that built this country and made you rich. Don't expect that we'll just sink into poverty now. Pay your fair share of taxes, which is much more than you're paying now. Guy Jacob Elmont, NY 11003

The America I know is by the people for the people. I lost 25,000 in my 401k had myforeclosed on due to a divorce. I fell luckier than most. American way is to care about everyone. How do you sleep at night. carleen mulloy MO 64151

You profited by wrecking our economy. Joseph Staples Keene, NH 03431
Predatory practices with student credit cards | 0
The bank "Higher One" had me under a barrell the whole time I went to school when I went back in my 50s to re-train for a job where I could get some work, having been a printer all my life, until the printing business became a "copy shop" and electronic publishing took over. So, I learned that, too. But the bank Higher One, when I asked them REPEATEDLY to CLOSE MY ACCOUNT, kept it open, and they allowed charges to be processed against an account which I had CLOSED! I was -3.10 cents when I asked them to close it, and now they say I owe over 500,00 in fees and service charges! THAT is the problem! I don't think I owe them anything above and beyond the 3.10 I was overdrawn at the time I asked them to close the account. So, I guess that will be my big bailout - 3.10 - and they can destroy my credit all they want to! I DO NOT CARE about credit, since they control the 3 card monty game, they and you, can have it! I'm out! John 42141
Ungrateful Institutions | 0
After you people lobbied for and received financial deregulation you behaved irresponsibly and caused the near collapse of our economy and the American people were forced to bail you out. Instead of admitting your errors and accepting the obviously needed regulations you poured even more money into lobbying against regulations and have done absolutely nothing to help the economy recover. Your "no increased taxes for so called job creators" is pathetic in that you now enjoy the lowest tax rate in sixty years and yet are hanging onto your money in a very Scrooge like manner. We outnumber you and we vote. Jacquie Clarke Long Beach, CA 9081503031
You reap what you sow | 0
Since you obviously do not give a damn what the lower income bracket Americans are experiencing I will not bother to share my story... You may however, need a reminder of yours....The fall of Greece, the fall of Rome, the American Revolution, the Mexican Revolution, Uprisings in Haiti, India, Latin America, and Africa, the French Revolution, the Russian Revolution, World War 1, the Cuban Revolution, the Peoples Revolution, more uprisings and bloody reprisals in Iran, Iraq, Eygpt, Argentina, Tibet, Indonesia .... You are outnumbered, you make yourselves hated, and I suspect on some level you hate yourselves... because you are connected to things rather than people. Because you are afraid. Scared people do foolish, evil things. You will repeat these lessons a thousand times over until you learn to share in the experience of the common person and come back enlightened. Erin 97211
So you think this is class warfare? | 0
In her book A Distant Mirror: The Calamitous Fourteenth Century, Barbara Tuchman writes about a peasant revolt in 1358 that began in the village of St. Leu and spread throughout the Oise Valley. At one estate, the serfs sacked the manor house, killed the knight, and roasted him on a spit in front of his wife and kids. Then, after ten or twelve peasants violated the lady, with the children still watching, they forced her to eat the roasted flesh of he husband and then killed her. That is class warfare. Arguing over the optimum marginal tax rate for the top one percent is not. Call off your republicants and pay your fair share. Main street socialism bailed out Wall Street. It's time to return the favor. Stop firing your customers and start creating jobs in America. Ken Burritt 12203
You're Lucky! | 0
This is not a personal story, but my analogy of how lucky you are. You're lucky this movement is happening now. If this had waited much longer, I believe the frustration would have led to a much more militant uprising. Even though you've attained a level of almost pure economic & political dominance, not just in the the U.S, but around the world, the 99%ers have remained reasonably peaceful. The question is, when is enough...enough? We demand our fair share of 'everything' back, we're mad as hell, & we're not going to take it anymore! Bye the way; You'll still have more than you'll ever know what to do with, but we won't stop until we have ours, & you're lucky for that, too! Mark Gerling 12208
End the pursuit of greed | 0
Recognise like multitudes of others that your kids, your spouse, your friends need you and not your money. Recognise that making a meal is far more meaningful than buying one. Recognise that writing out out your thoughts is far more meaningful (to your spouse, kids, friends) than buying an off the self card. Recognise that buying is a very poor cousin of making or being and buying to replace being is at the bad end of the scale the worst being is greed so that I can have more than you. Stop the greed because when it's all said and done no one can take anything with them to the grave. Recognise where the real satisfaction comes from in your life and set out to not only get more but also to give more. Miro Hodza Melbourne, Vic, ot 3000
