Times get tougher, it is harder to make a living, to feed a family, to buy property, to get credit. It has to stop now. Our young people need jobs and our old people need to be able to retire knowing that their benefits will support them for the rest of their lives. If the company is making money - the employees should get a raise, the company should expand, Not the bosses should get bonuses and vacations. Times are tough - get with the times. The Economy and Status Quo | 0
Dear CEO's and Board Members of Top Financial Institutions, The economy that influences the status of our lives is dejecting society and significantly diminishing our growth as human beings. This system that supports our health and even survival, is corrupting the value and purpose of life, and is invariably the cause for the egregious effects that have happened and will happen unless we can somehow incept a change that supports the survival of all human beings of all classes, including the health and safety of individuals, the preservation of our environment, the conservation of our natural resources, and to give people the motivation to live life to it's fullest potential. Too many people in our current "status quo" are overly pessimistic for what is to come. The standards of what is possible in peoples minds nowadays is absurdly finite. I suggest that together we begin opening our minds to the people and world around us. After all, close mindedness is the primal cause for nearly all weaknesses that envelop the human world. We think only of ourselves, our family, group, race, culture, or/and nation. It's officially time to ignore the ideologies of conservatism, capitalism, even utilitarianism, and think as an intelligent, moral, and free minded human being with a revolutionary strategy that will change and define the value and purpose of our existence. I could discuss my conceptions of this controlling and destructive system in full detail, but I'd rather think in simplicity and focus on the ways to improve the quality of our world and sustain or resurge the beauty that once existed long ago. Moving forward in a new, inspiring, and resolute direction. Hope this reaches you well. Sincerely, David Bastyr David Bastyr Otsego, MN 55330

Occupy the Board Room! Life sure is tough for those at the top. It must get awful lonely. So we thought to ourselves -- what could we do so they don't feel so alone? So they know there's somebody out there thinking of them? And then it struck us. It's way past time the 1% heard directly from the 99%. Well, today is their lucky day! Post your message to the 1%ers below, and it will get posted on the OccupytheBoardRoom.org website. We'll take all those messages and deliver them directly to more than 100 of the CEOS and board members at the top financial institutions in the world — the very same people who wrecked our economy and our environment, then gave themselves fat bonuses. They REALLY need to hear from you right now. Rachel Pope Spring, TX 77373

You guys are stupid - its supply and DEMAND - DEMAND - you better make sure the middle and lower classes have spending money or the whole economy goes down the tubes - even the energy monopolies are vulnerable to the DEMAND side of the equation - supply side economics I still can't believe you have a big section of voters falling for that nonsense - Regan's legacy - America doesn't know simple 101 economic reality - supply side economics - hilarious - nice mess you've made - you need to promote (a.k.a.) invest in REAL, TANGIBLE markets and product. Supply side=voodoo economics - supplies need to have demand to be sold - no demand - no sale - I mean really - wake up. Save the exotic stuff for Vegas - idiots - you believe your own hype - delusional, short sighted and just plain stupid - way to crush the global economy geniuses, explode disease, drain productivity, and eviscerate main street. How unbelievably moronic can you be? Let them eat cake - right? Paul Burke - Author Journey Home Virginia Beach, VA 23455
Why don't you care? | 0
It's easy, I guess, to read statistics about how many millions of people are without health insurance or who've lost their homes or who can't find jobs or who are forced to depend for their family's dinner on food banks that are so overtaxed they don't have enough food to offer. But don't you realize that each one of those is a real person? How about Linda, who died because she didn't have health insurance and her brain cancer went untreated too long? She left behind eight children - special needs children whom she'd adopted because her heart was as big as Texas, where she lived. The world lost a great soul and those kids lost their mother. Do none of them matter because they're just part of the 99% of us you consider disposable and insignificant? What if someone treated your daughter or sister or mother that way - as a person who mattered less than a company's excess profits? Can't you empathize at all? Why don't you care? Thanks for ruining my retirement | 0
YOUR financial antics leading up to the devastating financial collapse in 2007/2008 wiped out a good portion of my retirement income. It is time that you realize that you are not the only people in the world with important financial interests. The difference is that mine will determine the quality of the rest of my life. Yours will determine whether you can buy that fifth house in Gstaad. Thanks for nothing. John McBay 31411

I find it so difficult to understand how any American, and particularly Americans who have so much to be thankful for, can refuse to pay their fair share of taxes. I also find it abhorrent in the extreme, to take tax payer's hard earned money in bailouts and refuse to hire and employ Americans in return. This is greedy at best and down right unpatriotic in the extreme!! Laurie Smyla 10974
Game Day | 0
I hear it's lonely at the top. Come on down and play with us. We have a lot of fun coming up with ways to entertain ourselves that are extremely cost efficient. I'm sure you all can relate to that. With just a nail and a piece of paper, we can pin the tail on the jack ass - you know, the one that cuts our jobs and raises our prices. Then there is ring around the rosy where we all fall down under the weight of our financial obligations while the one left standing gets tired of standing and he, too, falls down. So many wonderful games we could play, if only you all would participate. Adrienne O'Niell Torrance, CA 90501
It's disgraceful to not pay your share or take subsidies | 0
It's disgraceful to not pay your share of taxes or take subsidies from the government or American taxpayers. Many Americans are jobless, underpaid, homeless, underfed, have lost their home partly because of some scheming mortgage officer and banking system that has gone haywire with loaning out our loan money. It's time the Americans that support you get taken care of. Why? Because they take care of you, whether it's in your own business or restaurants you frequent, the schools that educated you or your children, the services that public safety and services provide, the roads you drive on, the food that was grown, transported and produced for your table. Economic security is one thing but hoarding what you have and paying your share back to those who have taken care of you is gluttony and unfair. Susan Flynn Glendale, AZ 85302
Greed is not a virtue | 0
"Sooner shall a camel go through the eye of a needle than a rich man enter the kingdom of Heaven." This isn't original with me. It was said by a bearded young man with sandals who was protesting the greed and hypocrisy of the rich. Seen any people who fit that description lately? Are you a church-going Christian? Maybe you should skip services this week and do what else the Man said: "If you would follow me, first sell what you have and give to the poor." If you're not Christian, fine. But there are still certain standards of decency that should apply to simply being a human being. And demanding more and more for yourself when other people are hungry, homeless, and without health care is a behavior any human being should be ashamed of. Think about that. Worthless in America | 0
I remember when average dividends could bring in ten or eleven percent and now they aren't worth a damn. I am really amazed at how all this inside work has been done as to where millions of small investors are losing out and losing out while CEO's are getting fantastic bonuses! Price gouging and laundering! THERE JUST IS NOT ENOUGH INVESTIGATION! Some few need to be jailed! Wall street needs to be SWEPT AND REPAVED! Philip 75601
ALL BOARDS DECISION MAKING | 0
THE MAJOR ISSUE IS ALL PROFIT MAKING LARGE INSTITUTIONS AND CORPORATIONS NEED TO PLACE THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE VAST MAJORITY OF PEOPLE IN THE USA, BEFORE THEIR MISSION, WHICH IS MAINLY TO MAKE PROFITS. THEY MUST ANALYZE THE SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS PRIOR TO THEIR MAKING ANY DECISIONS, AND THEN TAKING ANY ACTIONS. AS I LEARNED IN THE GREAT DEPRESSION, WHEN THERE IS ANY RECESSION, BUSINESS' \CIRCLE THE WAGONS' AND FIRE CURRENTLY UNNEEDED WORKERS, 'INSTEAD0 OF UNDERSTANDING WHEN EVERYONE ELSE DOES THE SAME, WHO IS GOING TO BE LEFT TO BUY THEIR PRODUCTS AND/OR THE SERVICES THEY HAVE TO OFFER, AND/OR TO PROVIDE ??? Wall St. and World Economic Distress | 0
Personally your greed and lack of financial honesty and wisdom has caused my 52 year old son's business to be negatively affected. Many of his clients have had to cancel their connection with him. His business is involved in keeping the air clean and in conservation. Wall St: Your criminality has caused yourselves serious problems. You seem to lack any compassion. Money is your be-all and end-all, but in addition you owe the world and particularly your country real help in this terrible time for millions of US citizens. You botched helping those whose homes were in forclosure. Lately many teachers have been roundly criticized for lacking accountability. There is not enough mention of all the many good teachers. I am a retired inner city teacher. Wall St: You are accountable. You were saved by being bailed out, but you and others, particularly the Congressional Republicans, don't want to do the right things in behalf of most Americans. Dorothy 06825

CEO's and Board members, We are mad as hell and we are not going to take it anymore!!! You are getting richer, sitting on Billions of dollars and won't lend even though the mortgage crisis was mostly created by you!! While we are loosing or are underwater with our homes you are profiting from our demise. You are so filled with blatant greed that I makes me sick to think of all the ways that you are screwing the little guy and our environment. Everyone profits when our economy and environment are more equal and honest. Don't you know that? Diana Duncan Santa Monica, CA 90403

i HAVE BEEN A SMALL BUSINESSMAN FOR OVER 35 YEARS, AND HAVE WATCHED MY SUCESS, INVESTMENTS SHRINK THE LAST 10 YEARS, AND I RESENT IT. Corporations and Taxes | 0
Many corporations do not pay their fair share of taxes leaving the burden on working people. This is not fair and a disaster to the economy. Wages have eroded over the past 20 years due to globalization and the disparity of wealth in this country is growing. Wealth does not trickle down. Corporations need to assume greater imput in the finance of social needs through taxes. Paul 32162
