  • Hello, there! | 0

Hi.  Your bank’s actions make me sad and afraid.  I need to feel safe and in control of my life.  Therefore, please return the peoples’ money which you took, return people who have been foreclosed to their homes.  Stop laundering money for murderous drug cartels.  Break up your bank and give all the money to the people.  Thanking you in advance, Your pal,David Fleischmann

I am a 54 year old, white, suburban woman.  When I first heard that banks and brokerage firms were being bailed out with tax money, I thought, “Well, we don’t want to have a financial disaster.”  But look, we’ve been having one ever since.   I have 3 children who have either finished college with a load of debt, or are still there and very nervous about how they are going to pay back the cost of their education.  My two oldest did not even go to college until they were 28 respectively, so they are not kids.  They tried working without a degree, and found it next to impossible.  So they went back, but have every reason to believe that when they finish, there will not be a job for them that will allow them to live a half-decent life (isn’t that a great standard?) and repay the debt.  So if you’re wondering why the 99% is so angry, that’s a beginning.  And now you’re telling people they can only access their own money if they pay you to do so.  That’s another reason.  It took me until I was 48 years old to be able to buy a house.  I don’t hate you.  As a matter of fact, I am going to spend a few minutes praying for you when I am done here.  But don’t you think there are inequities in the system?  And don’t you think you could be part of the solution?  I am anxious to hear your reply (non-automated, I hope).  Thank you for listening.
