    To: Lowell C McAdam, Verizon
It has come to my attention that Verizon does not pay it's share of taxes. If I can pay mine, so can Verizon. I currently use your service, but will find another company that complies with the federal tax laws. Thank you D.Lucas

Hello, I live in the country you seem to operate out of and the only way for this country to operate correctly is for everyone to pay their fair share of taxes. I am sending you a message asking that you do your part, and help this country see another year without becoming under new management of the Chinese government.

  • Corporate Responsibility? | 0

To: Holyce Hess (Holly) Groos, Verizon
    Greetings!
Can you please explain to me the truth behind where Verizon spends its money? Having read that " From 2008-2010 Verizon did not pay any federal corporate income taxes, despite billions in profits. " and knowing the amount of profit gained over the past few years, I am not certain how Verizon can justify not spreading the profit over all of its business units to include the union.
I fail to see corporate responsibility as solely making profit. To me a responsible corporation engages in responsible "citizenship including paying taxes, equal treatment of its employees, takes care to practice fair trade and protect the Environment. Where does Verizon demonstrate any of that?

  • Corporation ARE a part of America | 0

    To: Lowell C McAdam, Verizon
Corporations aren't here to strip all they can from this country in the name of profits. Corporations have a RESPONSIBILITY to be a part of this country that help it succeed. In turn a STRONG AMERICA means profits for a STRONG CORPORATION. STOP this GREED. TREAT YOUR EMPLOYEES like YOU would want to be treated if you were one of them. Give a FAIR contract. Have some sense of CORPORATE MORALITY. And one more thing to consider...how about DOING THE RIGHT THING.

My voice shall be heard by the Wall Street elites who wrecked the economy and made the rest of us pay. There are people whom just got a college degree and have nothing to show for it. There are people whom just got evicted while your bankers gets bonuses.

  • Vulture Capitalism Kills People and Austerity Chokes Economic Growth | 0

To: Paul E Singer, Manhattan Institute
Fiscal stimuli and debt relief are necessary to spur increased employment which, in turn, will spur our consumer-based economy. If consumers are jobless and starving, we kill ourselves economically.

  • Pay Your Fair Share of TAXES | 0

    To: Lowell C McAdam, Verizon
From 2008-2010 Verizon did not pay any federal corporate income taxes, despite billions in profits. Yet Verizon's executives want to destroy the middle class jobs of 45,000 union workers.

Verizon, Bank of America & Wells Fargo have paid millions to lobby the government and next to nothing in federal income taxes over the last three years.

We pay our taxes and so should big corporations. We all pay so that our kids can get a good education, to maintain our roads and infrastructure, and for police and firemen to protect our communities. Verizon, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America are taking advantage of us when we pay for the services that they use!

It is time we let the people who run these companies know that they need to pay their fair share.

Hey, 1% at Verizon, we aren’t taking it anymore. Our government used to be run for the benefit of everyone, not just those rich enough to buy access.

First Warren Buffett calls on the government to increase the marginal tax rates on the super-wealthy, now mega-millionaire Nick Hanauer repeats the challenge. Consumers are the job creators, not millionaires. How much evidence do our business leaders need before they do what’s best for this country?

Raise Taxes on Rich to Reward True Job Creators
    By Nick Hanauer - Nov 30, 2011
    http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-12-01/raise-taxes-on-the-rich-to-reward-job-creators-commentary-by-nick-hanauer.html

It is a tenet of American economic beliefs, and an article of faith for Republicans that is seldom contested by Democrats: If taxes are raised on the rich, job creation will stop.

Trouble is, sometimes the things that we know to be true are dead wrong. For the larger part of human history, for example, people were sure that the sun circles the Earth and that we are at the center of the universe. It doesn’t, and we aren’t. The conventional wisdom that the rich and businesses are our nation’s “job creators” is every bit as false.

I’m a very rich person. As an entrepreneur and venture capitalist, I’ve started or helped get off the ground dozens of companies in industries including manufacturing, retail, medical services, the Internet and software. I founded the Internet media company aQuantive Inc., which was acquired by Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) in 2007 for $6.4 billion. I was also the first non-family investor in Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN)

Even so, I’ve never been a “job creator.” I can start a business based on a great idea, and initially hire dozens or hundreds of people. But if no one can afford to buy what I have to sell, my business will soon fail and all those jobs will evaporate.

That’s why I can say with confidence that rich people don’t create jobs, nor do businesses, large or small. What does lead to more employment is the feedback loop between customers and businesses. And only consumers can set in motion a virtuous cycle that allows companies to survive and thrive and business owners to hire. An ordinary middle-class consumer is far more of a job creator than I ever have been or ever will be.

  • Pay your fair share | 0

To: John G Stumpf, Wells Fargo
Your company represents one of the biggest corporate tax dodgers in America. You have all spent billions on lobbying hence helped crash the economy – more than you have paid in corporate taxes. In fact, not only have you spent billion buying access, you have gamed the system to receive millions in TAX REFUNDS! I find that offensive.

Come on. Pay up. If I hear you have not paid your fair share or are continuing to treat workers badly I will trade to another company. I have thought about it anyway but I know it will be a pain. However, I'll make that effort if you do not act responsibly.

  • Tax dodging and money making | 0

    To: Lowell C McAdam, Verizon
I have a private interest in that after having spent two years trying to get billing straight with Verizon, including with a previous president. The outcome, I was told over a period of 24 months was that everything was fixed. But it wasn't no matter who assured me. Then six months after I changed services because of a move, I received a notice that my credit was affected if didn't pay immediately. I chose to pay a bill I never owed that was Verizon's fault to be done with this.

If this is the way Verizon runs it's business, no wonder tax fraud and issues are a problem--I have no trust in Verizon. I surely wouldn't want to work for Verizon and totally support any action that bring Verizon up to face its responsibilities.

  • Think twice about what you do to your workers | 0

    To: Lowell C McAdam, Verizon
    Dear Mr McAdam,

I know there is a need to be competitive in today's market; however, your workers who work hard for you every single day shouldn't be the ones to pay. In a time where good paying jobs are harder and harder to come by and corporate CEO pay is going through the roof, it is time to rethink how your company makes its money. It comes from those who build your infrastructure, man your customer service lines, work in your stores and come up with the ideas that make your products better.

As you know, your prices are some of the highest for service in the country. Your workers wages should reflect the same price structure. These are well skilled laborers and should be rewarded, not punished for their work.

Unions aren't a bad thing, they look out for their members and make sure things stay fair. Can you really afford the bad press of another strike? I don't think so. No one wins when workers are forced to strike because of the unfair practices of their employer.

If you are making more than thirty times your lowest full time employee, you are being greedy and paid too much. If you are paying less than 30% in Federal income taxes, you are being greedy. Yes, as you said, you and your bank have a right to make a profit, but not at the expense of your employees or your customers.

Dear John, my wife and I are finally set to take all of our money out of Wells Fargo, and that feels great, even tho just a token act directed at the clueless 1% who don't seem to understand that either we all do well or eventually none of us do well. Please contemplate and try to see the need for fairness throughout our society. And let us know if you change your ways.

    To: Lowell C McAdam, Verizon
Pay your fair share Lowell, what do you think made this country work. What do you think the world would be like if everyone behaved as you do? Beyond a certain point materialism brings no more happiness, only fear that you may lose it. At that point life is just as much suffering as anyone else has. Compassion for others is a necessity for confidence.

    SHAME, SHAME SHAME ON YOU.

STOP THE GREED. YOU CAN MAKE A GREAT PROFIT, YOU DON'T HAVE TO MAKE AN EXTRAORDINARY PROFIT. SOME OF YOUR PROFIT SHOULD ALSO BE USED FOR CAPITAL IN UPGRADING YOUR BUSINESS. DON'T TAKE ALL THE PROFIT AND THEN RAISE OUR RATES TO GET MONEY FOR CAPITAL EQUIPMENT.

IF EVERYONE PAYS A FAIR SHARE OF TAXES THERE WOULD BE ENOUGH MONEY TO FUND EVERY IMPORTANT PROGRAM.

  • Unions create Balance | 0

    To: Lowell C McAdam, Verizon
Unions create balance - corporations are, by definition, a collective leveraging the power of capital; unions are a collective leveraging the power of individuals to attempt to bargain on a more equal footing. The result should be a better balance of equitable share of invested capital and effort. All deserve an equitable return on their investment. The only way to beat back unions is to offer all workers a fair shake so unions aren't needed. VZ can do that.
